Cancellation Policy
If, for whatever reason, you need to cancel or reschedule an existing appointment, please contact me at least 24 hours in advance. If I do not receive notification at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment (based on text or voicemail time stamp), you will be charged your full fee, regardless of the reason for cancellation or reschedule.
You may reschedule an existing appointment by calling or text messaging me at (408) 718-7405 and I will inform you of other days and times that I have available. Please note that they will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Insurance
Currently, I am not paneled with any insurance companies and my practice is private pay only. I do not have any contact with insurance companies. If you request a Superbill for you to personally submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement, I cannot guarantee they will pay for any or all of your therapy. You will still be responsible to pay for any/all therapy services rendered (including any late cancellation fees) directly and upfront, regardless of whether your insurance reimburses you. Please note that submitting a claim to your insurance for possible reimbursement typically requires a formal mental health diagnosis to be given, treated and included in your medical health record, and may open the possibility for your insurance to audit your therapy record should they choose to determine if your treatment meets the insurance billing criteria of "medical necessity."
Sliding Scale
I do offer a sliding scale option for individuals experiencing financial hardship. However, I only provide a limited number of slots for this service and you may be asked to provide proof of income to be eligible. If approved for a sliding scale fee, please know that we may periodically reevaluate and discuss the fee arrangement based on changes in income or other circumstances.
Good Faith Estimate Notice
As of 2022, The No Surprises Act includes new requirements for health care providers to inform any uninsured clients or those choosing not to use their insurance that they have a right to request and receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. The law is intended to prevent clients from receiving unanticipated or ‘surprise’ healthcare bills. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, or at any time during treatment. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, or how to dispute a bill, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
